Oops, got side tracked……the point i was wanting to make yeaterday and the thing i wanted your input on is should we start shipping fresh built motors again?……

……. I mean may be after not having any reliable builders willing to ship motors for folk we have no control over to rely they will do the right things when installing a motor.  It was funny but back when we did ship motors it was weird how we never had troubles installing them here but it seemed like problems abound when someone else did the install.

This is the main reason you cannot get a quality motor shipped……..too much liability!  But maybe now with so many people out there needing motors that maybe they will pay better attention on the install?

That probably IS wishful thinking but you guys out there NEED a stout built flat tappet motor….as long as you use the correct oils and maybe one of our full roller motors in a box for those really wanting the best motor for their coach……. Anyone out there want to see a long block shipping program?  I’m willing to try again for those that want to get serious about a fresh motor.  $1500 “rebuilt” motors that are put together with old piston is NOT a rebuilt motor for a motorhome!  Let me know if this is you.

Going to be a good week, several coaches hope to go home…..stay tuned and I’ll show you this week.

Gotta go for now…..heres a coach going on the road today

    Hi, Jim.

I’m interested in a “GOOD” remanufactured tappet motor, Monster tranny, and 3.55 or 3.73/3.70 final drive. My motor has at least one bad main bearing, knocks badly, and low oil pressure. I think I can find someone who knows how to do the job successfully (Don Virta near Austin, TX). He is a GMC owner and has a shop that installed a Paterson engine for the GMC owner from Germany a couple of years back.

I’d like an cost estimate for the package.

You would pay Monster $2795 for the trans, Jim K. has the diff @ $1800 the motor might be $5500 and then all would have shipping. Will be @30 hours R&R for your installer. We haven’t settled on a flat tapped cost yet. Our roller motor is $8500. Hope this helps
