Vintage RV & Motorhome restorations - "The GMC Coop"

You are here: Home / The Daily Pose / now THIS will be a good way to break up the week!

September 27, 2022

now THIS will be a good way to break up the week!

And if you wonder where we are…….follow that line splitting the middle of Hurricane Ian’s path…….hi, we’re right here! Like I said, I don’t know what’s worse……..the weather casters around here are hyperventilating on set! They’ve pre-empted the Andy Griffith reruns, I’ll miss that and much of the population down here are waiting in line 4 hours for 10 sandbags…….. America……the ant…….icipation makes the act much more exciting! !!!!!!

Working these past months waking up JayGee with the goal of showing up at the GMCMI convention on a red eye drive, good thing I got him functioning for this week……little did I know he would be our go vehicle if things get sideways. I rode out the last big one in Larry, the White Transmode talked about on the GMC Restorations page on the site.

Gentlemen, this is one of the good reasons to have one of these

We can leave! or we can stay and if recovery takes time we will live in him. Such options are important.

I’m heading over to the shop around 3 to see if I can help Jason and the guys getting the shop ready. I explained a couple of days ago we have 2 story north/South blocking and Jason being off a farm…… We’ll fair this well.

It doesn’t hurt though to keep us in your thoughts. I hope to report daily here………hey, let’s go back to the other name for a while! There may be some that remember when Charlie went thru I rode my electric scooter to the shop…..on dial up the lines were still hot and with generators all over the lot…. We were up and reporting here the next morning. With communication the way it’s progressed since then, let’s see if I can post on Thursday……. Here’s my back yard last night, let’s see what it looks like there Wednesday night?

Spoiler alert, I’ve already got the motorbike tent down……..ahw…..no fun!

The guy across the street had nowhere to put his kids wasted swing set so he set it at the road……..in front of MY house! And they call me type A! I didn’t have the heart…..or the energy to get with him so I’m taking it to the shop to our dumpster. Hey, this may not BA an?apocalypse, but that stuff would have landed on my screen porch! You gotta take care of each other no matter how your thought pattern collide!

And yep, I’ve still got to clean off the porch there…….thats tonight!

A little GMC stuff, there is a thread on Facebook about the unfortunate trip this Grand Villa took

on board fire is the #1 reason for totalled out coaches. In this thread, someone brought up my Fire Fight Products company. Guy, so you all know the stuff was designed by a retired GMC owner fire engineer. You know he passed away and I’ve been trying to hold up this super important option for our GMC’s. Fire has always been something that’s been on most folk “back burner” knowing it’s important but not worrying because of the odds. Beside, you may have always felt that if it does become an issue with you that you could always give me a call and I could set you up. In fact, the industry has progressed selling only what people ask for that Fire Fight Products is the only viable professional system specifically designed for RV fire safety! That fact blows me away but still, with so few actually acting on what they know they should do, this company still owes a GMC enthilusiast and friend that financially helped me secure the business way back then. Has it been an income stream for me…..its simple, not at all! It has been a mission of service in my eyes but I can no longer hold this torch. I’m disappointed the business could not make more headway but that’s the human nature of a service such as this. There’s good reason no one else offers such specialized products……theres no money in it! Shhhh, don’t tell all those capitalists out there I’ve been supporting a money making business for 9 years that’s never made any money? Yep, and I’m not living in an island in the Bahamas and am about to get blasted by Mother Nature! Hey, no troubles! I’f you have been putting off protecting your rare investment with a fire suppression system….brother you may already ‘ve too late! Call me…….

I think by now you guys know I’m not kidding so if you too feel we are collectively stupid driving a mobile campfire looking for a match then you’re in good shape….. Good luck. This is something worthwhile to keep going!

If you think this stuff needs to keep being offered….kinda like what we are trying to do the The Co-op then give me a call…….dont wait.

Ok, I’ll post some pics here of the shop before the storm this evening……we’ll see you then
