Winds of Change

It's human nature to want to be different.  Watch shows about custom cars, motorcycles and other vehicles and you will hear "we wanted to stand out with this vehicle" but the problem with always wanting to stand out is after a while there is so much "standing out" that they all start looking the same!  I mean how much chrome, how many dingleballs can you hang off of a set of wheels before everyone says "seen than, done that, got one".  The motorcycle community now is trying desperately to stand out offering things like LED lights inside the rims, big fat farings, radios, GPS adjustable air ride systems, electronic cruise controls, heaters man & I'm sure there is stuff I can't even imagine trying to tempt people to "be different"   I'm sorry but to me all that stuff is starting to look the same!  I don't want a motorcycle that will stop soooo fast that I'm over the handlebars if I cough and with that same cough I can easily reach light speed tearing the flesh from the bones of my face!  Oh but thats just before I hit a wall and end up a hockey puck sized pile of ooze!  I lived though those crazy years and don't wanna take chances like that again  I do not Endeavour to ride the back wheel to Daytona or do "stopeese" on the front wheel to the end of the block.  I do not want to spend hours polishing chrome and taking out a loan to pay for it all.  I feel insurance will be the death of us all economically --and as Arlo once said in a song, "I don't want a pickle, just wanna ride on my motor sickle and I don't wanna die-- just wanna ride on my motor cy"

No, I just wanna get out on the road on something unique and take a ride.  I want to do this thing on something I feel will stay together and give me reliable service.  I feel that soon the "bubble" will burst and the bike community is going to say "why" to all this stuff and will start a search for something more "back to basics" to try and stand out--- guess what, thats what I am doing now and thats why I think the CJ just might be the direction for me.

I do feel everything in this world unfortunately is about money-- kinda stinks and many may deny that but in the end thats it.  I have built what some would say are pretty high priced GMC renovations but when I get finished it all comes down to the bottom line on the invoice.  If that's true, these bikes we seek to offer are the cheapest toy in the toy box!  I mean what kind of new motorcycle can you buy for $6500?  I know I would not be happy with whatever it would be.  Then you say, these are not new-- but in the way that means the most they are.  The motor has been totally rebuilt, all the bearings have been changed, it has all new paint from top to bottom and I mean ALL painted-- there ain't no stinkin chrome on this baby-- nothing to polish, nothing to take your time away from the ride.  Ok, so you pick up a chrome fuel cap, there ya go-- ya got your chrome so be done with all that stuff about covers, brackets and hang on crap thats supposed to make you happy-- be happy because of the ride and the fat wallet you have.  Kick back on cruise on this baby and enjoy the fact you didn't spend a wad of money and you have a reliable machine that really turns heads.  Don't follow someone elses dream--- follow your own!

We can have a CJ built to your color, I picked the desert military tan-- I don't know why, it's just always been something I have wanted, could be because of all of those Rat Patrol episodes I watched as a kid .  You can have one all satin black-- Henry Ford says everything looks good in black!  How bout army drab green or all gun metal grey.  We are set up to have bikes built custom in any fashion, not just "bolt on" distinctive but to the basics custom-- you tell us your dreams and we can have it built!  Hey, but lets not start the escalation that I feel has doomed the current idea of being "different"!

I can see in the not too distant future bikes with no chrome-- heck, there are people doing it out there right now!  De-evolution is a prominent  theme in vehicle design today.  "Old School"-- heck as Charles Boyd said to me recently, these CJ bikes are "Pre-School" and I'll add to the maybe "Prehistoric"!  You want "retro" this thing is REAL RETRO!  Something old that works like new, thats what I want and thats what I want to be seen on and the way I want to be thought of.

The Winds of Change are blowing, heck this sounds like something from a 60's protest song and maybe thats where the future is taking us.  Recycle paper, recycle glass, plastic, metal and whatever-- why not recycle motorcycles?  The biggest problem with that is finding the talent, the parts and have enough of the raw materials to do this in repetition.  There are literally millions of these retro machines in China and people there eager to remanufacture them for us.  We say a product of China, these bikes were not originally manufactured for export, they were made for use there actually in their country so please do not attach the stigma some put on products exported from China, these are products built for China consumption and there is a big difference there.

In conclusion here, understand this idea of having a historic machine such as this is not going to take over the planet, maybe it will but I feel the importance of it is for those unique people looking for a unique experience.  So if that's you, wrap your legs around a CJ and be a part of it all.
