Happy Monday guys……get this week going….

…… So to give a little punch for the day, talking to several recently I’ve referred to “Mutcedes” our drive train evaluation “tool” I enjoyed to once again talk about the idea.  So don’t get me wrong though, I’d be happy to talk about it because we use this tool for much of the prototyping and install processes and performance results.

Sounds kinda important looking at it that way and if you don’t know about this you might first think it was “just for fun” ….. I will admit part of turning the idea into a useful tool was fun….it was a win/win I guess.  For those that know about Mutcedes please excuse me while I get others up to speed.

First, let’s get “what the ______”He gets some looks driving because it is tagged.  Mutcedes is a 1976 Mercedes SL450 convertable, trunk cut off.  A frame welded to the Unibody car then a front frame clip from a GMC Motorhome to the back.  It’s a driving drive train test tool….. The guys are loading up a fresh roller motor to run it, the tranny and diff thru its pacesIt’s fitted with a “blackout” CVF Racing Serpantine belt system and FiTech fuel injection to also be adjusted during the run-in.There’s a set of mechanical gauges in the motorbay with an ignition switch in the fuel door.Zoom in on this pic we also have gauges in the dash to watch the motor as its driven.  The only electrical component reused in the harness was the ignition switch!Without this step in our motor replacement process, the liability on that work would be too great.  You need to know BEFORE the drive train gets shoehorned into your coach.  Any other way is risky….. TOO risky!

So are the guys here committed to do things right?

I’m also excited about the guys taking apart a 6 year old restoration adding now all the new mechanical stuff recently come about.  I’m proud it’s already getting upfittedstay tuned for more.

Yep it’s important to again thanks to all who support to “The Dreams Alive”.  See ya again

    Hey Jim

Hey Frank…long time. The molds are safe thru the industrial scans we had made. After talking with 2 auto manufacturers under NDA, I found they all want to steal all of it from the community. I had them destroyed to protect their integrity …..to keep them ours….and have the scan files protected. In reality it’s the scans if they are good is what they would do first….we’ve done that……. The scrap value went to the GMC owner/supporter who paid to have the expensive scans done. Now we are secure and ready for the future. Decisions had to be made. Thanks for the question
