GMC Motorhomes: Sanding……sanding……sanding, no way around it……..

It’s been said to the point wether you accept it or not……it’s the truth and the work is something that can’t be rushed and isn’t done until it “feels” right.  Jeremy is our man for this job.  Yesterday…..yep a Sunday I didn’t think there was anyone ………. enough like me to come in when no one else would be bothering meWwith some really loud heavy Rock and Rain, his dog, Jeremy is after the EM-50 project like it needs.Scaffold up on the passenger side, A frame windows and windshields out of the way, he’s all over the plastic body parts.  It’s a rainy day, keeps the dust down……carry on there soldier.I actually came in on my Sunday for 2 issues……first I wanted to get a leg up on a project I’m jumping on myself to figure something out……the second reason for coming in I’ll show u in a minute.

There are learning curves in all new ideas and after installing 3 of the in dash AC upgrades I wanted to see how impossible it would be to install the new system WITHOUT also updating the entire dash and engine electrical system!  I had found it helpful to have all that other stuff out of the way when doing one of these dash AC systems.  This is a coach I’ve worked with since back in the CLASCO days.….we actually painted it like 15 years ago.  The dash is a standard configuration Mac dash I had installed previouslyIrd very clean and I hope to keep it that way while putting the new dash AC/ heat system we prototyped last year.

First things first, I set up me work station….. no one here I had time to round up tables, a light and my tool carts…….somebody tie a rope to my ankle…….I’m goin in!..The heater box open now it all comes out…..By the end of the day I hope to have this all out……stay tuned….

But that’s not the second reason to spend my Sunday at the shop…..Shhhhhh, don’t tell anyone, sometimes there just to cool of something to do….I meant you HAVE to do the for more than the money…………I stopped in Sunday morning to pick up the LAST part I needed to make all the lights work..ird the electronic flasher module I needed to flash the turn signals..I’ve let Jared &Phillip name the beast….they built it so it’s named “Mutcedes 455SL”.The hard top rusted pretty badly, only 8 holes in the convertible top we’ll use that.

Cutting the rear Crossmember it’s actually a part of a GMC Motherhome frame!  It as gotta get cut..With that our new motor stand is street legal, tagged and ready to drive………stay tuned……

So it’s Monday and we need to focus, on on my job…..you get with your day……….see ya tomorrow

Re: Mutcedes 455SL. With the engine and transmission mounted backwards in configuration with front end of vehicle. Wouldn’t the gearing be so, that you have to drive in reverse (to go forward)?
