A good looking coach but there was a nagging thump at lower speeds New owners had just installed new 16.5″ tires on the original rims. Hmmm, is it the old rim??? Running your hands across the tires I found the RR wheel had a flat spot. How could that be? I think these coach drive so well and easy that new owners may forget they are driving a 12,000 pound projectile and get themselves in trouble stopping. In a panic stop (something you should just not put yourself in) weight shifts forward and the rear wheels loose traction and skid. That’s what happened here. Left bumping is not only annoying but will cause additional damage to the tire and maybe even take out a bearing if left long enough.
What to do? Out comes our tire truing machine to cut this flat spot out. Here is the now visible flat spot after passing the truing blade over 1/2 of the tread
and here is after the first full pass
Here’s the flat spot after 3 blade passes.. you can see it’s getting smaller
and here is the round again tire after cutting the tire down to the flat spot
Yes, I had to cut a pile of rubber off that tire but without doing it the tire was ruined
Hey, cheaper than a new tire….
Boy, we’re seeing these Honda water cooled generators showing up. Watch Craigs list and Ebay for them. These are 6000 watt EV-6010 The one in the diamond plate box came out of a Carney ride. These Hondas fit very nicely in even with a batter
Fixed mount it’s still very easy with a lift table to take one out
.
And here is our next Troll victim
Hey, the ole critter did well but on it’s last outing would not fire up… that’s it, today this puppy will be in that hole
