Yesterday I showed you the 74 coach frame we had rescued. A real barn find the coach was found under a collapsed garage the coach had been hidden in on a large piece of property. You can see when it was parked the Delco original shocks were in new condition before time and rust took it….look at the clean paint that was protected by the shock skirt. Why do I think they are original? That’s not only a 16.5 tire there but bias ply tires? That’s old! If your rear brake hoses have a round shoulder where the secure bolt passes thru the center like this one…….do not drive the coach….these are original 40 year old brake hoses!
The bulge in the hose sleeve at the ends is rust. Please do not use these!
Ok so it’s pretty easy to see this air bag with its recalled cracked plastic cones looks pretty bad. But take a look at the inside of the bag .
look at the rubber damage in there too.
Guys and this is from decades of sitting in a barn….no use! I have to say if you are driving weather checked or cords showing on your air bags u need to do something…….soon! Good parts though..the bogies, the frame is nice and we have a 455 motor with low miles……full of water it may be gone….we’ll have to see.
.
So the guys are deep in the trenches working. When they come up for air I’ll take a few pics…………. Sometime you can’t see the work til it’s done…..stay tuned…..it’s getting on so I need to start my day.
See ya tomorrow where I have word on getting those original body panel molds to the shop. A total of 450,000 pounds of chrome plated steel ………the move is coming and we could use your help. Ill talk about that tomorrow……see ya then
