GMC Motorhome: The motor is out…2 ways

First a little business then a little fun:

The proud 1973, 23′ sporting an original Bargman door latch pulled itself up onto the lift and well, Katlyn and Phillip did their thing……  Eidson-awning-2  The last pullJohn new motor 1  And here is the heart still beating….well not really but it is as good a core as the one we used on the new motor  Eidson motor 19  THESE are the cores we want to see……not broken!  Oh and while renewing the drive train the back of the hourse came out too  Eidson motor 18  This too is a core we want to dork with.  The engine compartment has been chemical then pressure washed Eidson motor 14  All clean and you can see his Fire Fight Products automatic fire suppression system……..thanks for protecting yourself and supporting my business.  Why so many think fire will never happen this them amazes me….I’ll stop.

The motor already had headers and many nice bolt on features helping it….. heat insulation and fresh radiator we installed last year…look at the bolted in lower radiator shroud modification we did last year Eidson motor 16 His motor will now come off the run in stand and go into it’s new home…stay tuned  Eidson motor 9

NOW…I promised you ANOTHER way to pull out a motor.  I’ll try and get through as much of this as I can…I may need to finish on “page 2”:

So when you just need the drive train out and you don’t care what gets in the way…….how bout this?

We don’t need to stinkin body…get that thing out of the way  Red Neck motor pull 18  Don’t worry, there were other parts pulled off the Ole Palm Beach and it’s still rolling…..kinda  Red Neck motor pull 2..

Oops, Jared pulled up….see ya on page 2….

And now for page 2……….

First of all understand all this was done after 5pm……. if all we did was this stuff all day yeah we would be having fun but I don’t see me getting paid for this….maybe…….

Hwy, with no body…we don’t need no stinkin floor eather!  Red Neck motor pull 15  So you’re asking, “what the hell with the 2 rear wheel?”  We’ve come up with a pair of bolt on training wheels….that way if you don’t have a quad bag system and your wheel bearing goes away….Cal….. you can bolt this puppy on!  Red Neck motor pull 16  OK, so back to the motor pull………Phillip’s “red wrench” made short work of getting rid of those stuck bolts….better than WD-40….I think he caught the WD-40, oil, fuel and tranny fluid though  Red Neck motor pull 9  Then came the removal……… it’s amazing what you can do with a fork lift!  Red Neck motor pull 8  Yep, we got the whole “kit and caboodle” whatever that means we have a front clip in our hands  Red Neck motor pull 4  Still running….Hmmmm, what to do now!  Anyone need a body…….with no nose?  Red Neck motor pull 5  Need to think about that one a little but hey….cut the torsion bars and remove the shocks……………holy crap!  It slams to the deck!  Red Neck motor pull 22  Oh no….Jared…what are you thinkin!!!  Red Neck motor pull 19  The day is on…I gotta go…stay tuned for more on THIS one!
