GMC Motorhome, Short block coming together…

If you will remember after installing a new transmission and fixing the cracked intake manifold, we found a low end knock in the Pickles 455 motor   Pickle 1  The decision was made to pull the motor and rebuild the bottom end of the motor which is called a “short block” rebuild.

The heads are removed from the motor then the block is completely stripped to be cleaned out  Pickle motor 2  The block and crank were then taken to our machine shop where it was resized to .020/.020.  It came from a 20,000 mile Jasper build at .010/.010  Pickle motor 8 Next the 20 over bearing sets came in Pickle motor 10 and with the block line bored we should get it all back for assembly by the end of the day..Pickle motor 9  I even greased the wheels with donuts….. hey, whatever it takes….Pickle motor 11  I think Mikey likes them!

Just wanted to get this up… probably do more later…… isn’t this fun!.
