GMC Motorhome: Rusted frame repair, post 3

As this is a major project and the prime focus of our mechanical guys..and gal, here is some more that we find after getting into the project… let me say this usually happens when you investigate a clear issue.  Breaking down the driver rear wheels to install the bogy system, Steve chassis 20  yes… look to the right of this pic, you are not supposed to see light over there.  Oops, using an air chisel…. the rail has issues …rust through!Steve chassis 21  What’s more, it extends very near the driver side bogy  Steve chassis 22  We need to reinforce the shock mount as well.  Phillip will be firing up the MIG welder today.   I feel we have seen the worst of it now…. an plan is in place so Phillip will be firing up the MIG welder today…. stay tuned for the outcome….

The new Mac dash is wired and in place, Danavan has to finish that out today so yeah, the beat goes on around here.    9.25.17 morning 1]  Tomorrow I want to show you progress on a new project…. a Airstream travel trailer “wedding photo booth kiosk”…..let that sink in a bit……I’ll show ya tomorrow hey and the 57 Belair stretch is coming together… show some of that tomorrow….

The weather is turning dry after hurricane season… perfect time for bike riding… this weekend I gave the 75 GL1000 with it’s new black satin set of threads… I think it rides better…..9.25.17 morning 3  Sunday was beautiful and after the stress of no work for a week it feels good to dry out, clean up and get back to work.  I feel for those that have so much more work to get back to where they were…… can’t imagine….just no production for a week has caused many problems…lets not forget those folks.

We are so fortunate to live when we do and where we are.  Those of us owning such a unique machine as a GMC motorhome have even one more thing to be grateful for.  I remember my office at Panasonic with a window overlooking the “bullpen” everyone working….now I’m sitting here in my “inside office” with a view I like much better  9.25.17 morning 2   and my shop office view..well what can I say…….  9.25.17 morning 7  See ya tomorrow……..
