Still closed on taking in any new large projects until we have our assembly process caught up still this ole soldier came in for a clean up to offer for sale. If you are looking for a ground level object of your frustration to build up the way YOU want……this could be a good one for $5000 A 1973 with a Honda generator, good frame and a recent Carrier roof AC…awning, we will get it running and I dig the ambulance rear bumper!
We do not buy or sell coaches but “Uncle Al” as I’ve called him for a good 15 years is ready to move on and his coach needs a new home.
Moving on…….Ruby has come alive, the top clearance lights on proved that some time ago. but now we have a face to that electrical system
Crap, I’ll get a better pic tomorrow and I’m not screwing down the panels until we get the hot shot new steering column but above the radio is playing, all illumination of the dash is on and we are charging the batteries up from it’s sleep.
I know these 3 projects linked together seems like moving 3 times slower but the preparation of them all make things come together very quickly…when everything is ready. On that note, these windshields is an importants phase on Dave’s 3rd dash AC/heat project lab rat Our windshield installers came over from Tampa yesterday for a scheduled windshield install I had them remove the needy windshields on David’s coach so I could better reach spaces on his dash when I get to his buildup
This dash will be colored the factory brown hard parts and pads, it will also be a MacDaddy dash build up. His dash AC/heat system has followed but has now caught up with Ruby & Texas Tux
.so now we will bring #3 up to cosmetics…….stay tuned…..
Stopped by the machine shop to see how things were going on a 455 roller motor machine work. No, this is not the motor but this is the stuff they work on Our 455 block is on the line bore machine…lined up the block gets a bore rod like the one next to it to be sure all main bearing journals are all in line…….this is called line boring……VERY important
Here are our cleaned and magnafluxed good heads.
There are 3 boken exhaust bolts in each and the exhaust side needs a good resurfacing but in that headers will go onto this motor the surfacing will not effect sealing of the driver side exhaust. Next up, the heads go meet Mike who will install new thin exhaust seats and do up whatever else they need
This is what he’s doing to these I think 454 Chevy heads
I’m showing all you guys this and wanting the owner of this to be awesome roller cam motor that these guys are NOT in our hurry. They do things at a methodical rate and trust me that what you want them to do! 1 error, one thing they forget to do or have a machine uncalibrated when they do their cuts and the whole ball of wax melts!
and risking to sound whatever you cannot rush this work…it takes what it takes and my suggestion is to not make plans to use your vehicle until THIS process is done well…….it’s just the way that cookie crumbles….sorry….but it’s in process and I haven’t pissed him off so we should be good!
Our current motor/tranny install is going well.
The bolted in radiator core support means the front of the motor is on.
and don’t those armor woven oil cooler hoses just give you that warm and fuzzy feeling! The 23′ puppy has been on our lift to long, we have more operations to perform so my bet is it will be firing up on it’s new FiTech on top 455motor and fresh Tranny soon…..
Good timing, Jared just pulled in and I have more to show you….we’ll see you on page 2 later….BTW, I write (updated) on the topic when I do page 2….see ya then
