GMC Motorhome, JD in the big house

one of the parts of working with folks making their dreams come true is the time it takes to do things well.  it’s hard to not think of your new toy while it’s getting its facelift but there’s just no rushing things.  Having so many coaches in process here, the way we try and combat this time issue is to stay on our production schedule keeping the last one in going for the next one out.  putting a restoration process on hold (some do to not impact their finances) but some are in earnest and those are the project we keep moving toward the door.  Here’s one in process making a red letter point of its process.  JD’s coach has had its buff out and hit the light of day for the first time.  Jd buffed 12

That now distinctive dipping line really does the job now that we can see it

Jd buffed 13  Jd buffed 11

In the light of day you can see how the graphic design set off the style of the coach  Jd buffed 8

Now that it’s in the big house now for assembly, the guys all jump on it together again, keeping the next one edging toward the door….. Jd buffed 7  Jd buffed 4  Here you can see how lines must not look stilted straight, there’s a curve to your canvas and that’s what you must follow…. straight lines are a relative term……Jd buffed 5 This is where I’m supposed to throw down the microphone…. it’s details like this we anguish over.  It’s not just a pile of lines, it has to say something ……..  So the guys have a mission, there is a drop dead date but I’m not spending money to hit it…. it takes the time in for the quality out…. we are hoping those to intersect!  Stay tuned for more.

Now the next coach going into mechanicals is pretty unique.  The folks who own the coach is the daughter and grandson of a GMC owner I had the pleasure of helping with his last coach.  Hey, he’s still kickn and now the mission of this project is to get their coach mechanically sound and cart dad/granddad around in another GMC with his #37 FMCA member plaque  Scott ext 4  He signed up on the second FMCA rally and having this cast aluminum (not ole plastic)  Scott ext 2  again on the coach well, that’s certainly a desirable goal.  As I said, the coach is in our mechanical production line hopefully going up on the lift today, follow this one as we get it out the door.

OK, I have a doc appointment to look at what my blood is diluted with…… oh boy!  Gonna be a hot day……… I havta work out in it so we’ll see ya tomorrow…….
