GMC Motorhome, FiTech stuff

Spacleys 350 11

Our Skunk Works 350 is getting set up on our run in stand.  As we discussed this motor too will be fitted with the FiTech fuel injection system butfor many reasons the least of which I’m learning the differences in set up and precautions in doing the FiTech install, we will be installing a carb and stoch HEI distributer for the initial start-up.  I KNOW how to set up a fresh motor with a carb……. so lets see whaz-up setting this 350 up for both  Spacleys 350 9  I can hear it now….”dang brother that looks like a nasty carb!  Hey, “he’s not heavy, he’s my brother”.  That is my “known good” carb.  When setting up a fresh motor you want as many variables removed.  Stay tuned for that.

We’re waiting for the 1/2 spacer/ spread bore adapter for Marlin’s FiTech install.  We DID have we thought all of the unique parts needed….. guess that part was missed  Marlin FiTech 2  His FI “black box” came in with the main components Marlin FiTech 1To include the main throttle body itself  Marlin FiTech 3  Marlin’s motor already got set up with my carb and is now ready for the topside work Marlin FiTech 4 Ignition system timed up, new Delco Rapidfire plugs and wires for the new HEI late model distributer.  Being a 1973 model, the motor still ran on it’s point distributer.  THAT had to go.

It’s a bummer today, I’ll be out picking up parts from our tranny and torque converter folks.  I have Cedric’s beautiful new chrome bumpers to pick up so I’ll be gone.  I’ll ask Jared to get some pics of the FiTech install….. he’ll have the thing running by the time I get back!  Stay tuned for that……..

I was talking yesterday about tint, here is the coach I was telling you about that will be using the tint to accent the “raccoon” window blackouts  Scott ext 1You can see what I mean, the paint scheme needs the windows to be black out.  It will have the look and the ceramic particle aspect will be reflecting off the heat.  Stay tuned for the look…..

OK, I need to configure my Suzuki to transport 2 transmissions and 4 torque converter and 4 sets of bumper halfs…… no room for passengers so I’ll do some pics…… see ya tomorrow which should show some real progress on the FiTech install…. see ya then…. .
