GMC Motorhome, “Fandango” can now be seen…

So much to talk about I just can’t right now but I want to show you at least one really neat thing that will happen today……. Do you remember the first time you saw your new puppy?  For me it was a cat but whatever, it’s always the first full view of something that stays in your head…. your first rollercoaster ride was ALWAYS the scariest and all of that…..

Bill has probably already left to come down for a looksee at his coach… Fandango is at the first level where you can stand back and recognize where it’s going.  Yesterday evening before I took off I snapped a few pics of what Bill D. will be introduced to for the first time.  Up to now, we’ve been fighting small battles…. paint… lighting… floors…walls….dash….and on that list goes.

But today it’s different… we washed Fandango up getting all the smudge prints off… it’s not all buffed out yet and you can see it’s still coming together but here it is as of this morning  bill-visit-6  The grill and headlight bezels will be the last thing to go on.. kinda makes it look toothless, have no fear that will be all new  bill-visit-5  Exterior detail and assessor finals are getting done  bill-visit-3  And if I must say I like the inside of the entry door finish  bill-visit-2  That window shade is one of the “top down/bottom up” ones I had shown you before.  Not a “pleated” but a blackout “cell” shade 1 1/2″ honeycomb cell design.  The laminate wood floor matches the exterior gold with the lower kickpanel on the door matching the interior wood cabinets.  So turning out the lights last night I told Fandango…. don’t move!  bill-visit-1  One other cool thing happened yesterday.. I went over to inspect the machine work on the 403 roller motor we’re building up before Drew (our assembler) picks up the pieces/parts.  All pistons assembled and weighed and balanced  full-mechanicals-project-30 and here’s the final balancing data from the crank…10/10  full-mechanicals-project-31  Oh yeah baby, I’m feeling good about THIS motor!

OK, big day… I want Bill and his wife to like their new toy… we’ve worked hard for this day…. Fandango isn’t done yet but you can see done from here……. Going to try and do episode 2 of “A shocking look at the GMC Motorhome electrical system” over on “Motorhome Rehab Ranch”.  Give me till this evening…. with luck….  Thanks for dropping by, see ya tomorrow… .
