GMC Motorhome, “Cal Tan” got it’s coat (updated)

So how bout that….

If you’ve been watching, I’ve belted out now 3 Daily Poses…. or would it be called Posi…. If I can get some time to blast some pics and verbiage I think maybe I can do this from time to time.  Hey, if you want, post me a subject you would like to see brought up here and I’ll see what I can do.  Lets make it like writing in to Red Green over at Possum Lodge…..  I was always riveted on some of his projects and no… we do not have any duct tape at the shop but we do have some pretty handy WD-40… even some with Freon as it’s propellant…. shoots cold to try and shrink the metal to let go.  Yeah, we follow all the cutting edge stuff and dang I wish they still did have new episodes of Red Green…..  whatever, you didn’t get up this morning to here me talk about where ideas come from …. no, actually the annnn……ticipation is haunting me….. because yesterday Ray got the layout ready and shot Cal’s clearcoat.  Here is the last pic I took…. this is of the base colors on and prep for the clearcoat   Cal-in-clear-1  I feel we captured the true nature of the term “Cal Tan”.  What the heck does that mean?  Well, all through Cal’s career as a large body aqua maintenance technician he always wore the same tan straw like hat, tan shorts and a light tan shirt.  Even away from the pole he just couldn’t help himself  Cal-cooking  That was Cal… I mean look at the color of his coach before which BTW, fit Cal to the T’s    Cal-paint-trip-2   So yeah, there is history of these colors and we needed to dress the ole girl up but keep it’s roots.  Take a look at the base colors again, the 2 tan colors making that front corner together I think looks great Cal-in-clear-1  and moving to Arizona, the red and orange colors should say yeah, I live in the desert…. and a wear a real cowboy hat!

OK, I can’t wait any longer, we’ve had the coach hold up in the booth keeping the dust away all night…..  in Analds words “I’ll be back”.  It may be later today but I WILL finish this pose with some clear pics.    Cal will come out of the booth today and Nance’s coach is going in… the production has started….

Back from the booth and here are the first pics in the daylight:

     Cal-in-clear-13.

Cal-in-clear-16

And man, look at that black line Cal-in-clear-15

Here are some other pics, colors pop and man, those lines are nice….  Cal-in-clear-11  Cal-in-clear-9  Cal-in-clear-8  Cal-in-clear-6  Cal-in-clear-5 and the money shot, he’s in bay 1 for his trim out, it’s a good day here in the neighborhood…

Cal-in-clear-3  Stay tuned for the trim out, each thing we do will make it look better…
