BTW, Happy Valentine’s Day too……..I’ve always thought if it weren’t for weekends and holidays we could get something done! I don’t feel quite so much as I did and I certainly didn’t look at the calender when this day was planned but hey, what the Heck……..a great present for the new family! We’ll spend the day introducing them to their new family member. Their plan is to drive the wheels off Tail Gator till school in August. Great plan and today is a good day for the Robinson family to meet their new rocket ship………lets not crash land on an alien planet!
So Tail Gator has had a long trip to get to this point. First built up for a business in the early 90′ s, it was then converted to a motorhome by us in the early 2000′ s. Restored it sat in a warehouse until it was brought to us to find a new home @3 years ago. Now updated fresh brakes, FiTech fuel injection, Honda generator, 4 bagger, 16″ Alcoas and that trunka family of 4, that massive storage space Bach there is going to be a great help.
Man, after almost 20 years, the paint sure has held up!The striping is a updated tribute to the Royale scheme done in satellite with soft corners
Twin Pinguins on the roof, ladder and rail but no “penthouse” storage pod there’s no way anyone would look at this machine and think it came out when Rowan and Martin’s Laugh in was on the charts!
The restored carbon fiber look dash with light great colors held up well, adding a flip out 7″ “smart radio” and FiTech command center (to the left) updates this rocket to state of the art todayThe family have their own ideas for flooring….good thing, the diamond plate aluminum floor is tough on your feet! And YOU thought the only diamond plated floor was in that silly food truck built on “Rock My RV”! That’s glue from the carpet pad we had put down before to tone down the floor! But we have the reast of the coach looking pretty sharp………
that’s a Quisenart microwave, convection, grill overhead, there’s a 3 way Norcold frig to the left ….a covered double sink and Hobbs of storage. The dash area is pretty much complete again except for the flooring
Those brushed aluminum micro-mini blinds still do their thing offering reflections from the bullet lights
We called that the “Twinkie effect” back in the CLASCO days…….yeah, I know goofy but still kinda cool for back then.
Anyway, here’s another top shelf GMC heading out to again be an integral part of a families lifestyle.
I need to get ready for school day….all of you with coaches in here will do this one day…….talk to ya tomowwow…………
