GMC Fixing Cal’s bumper and full timer discussion

Morning guys, let me first right a big wrong…. please say Happy Anniversury to Janie & I on our 37th year of making our way together.  Anniversury-37-1

And even through all that time, all the crazy remoantic ideas I’ve had about business and over 20 years of it tied directly to the GMC motorhome….. it’s still a love affair that survives.  You should be so luck……  I do my best only because of the help I have and this is my number 1 helper.

Just wanted you to who has kept me alive so long…

You remember me driving back from Prescott with Cal in his coach for a paint job.  Cal has been puttering around here helping clean up, organize and get things going during our move to the new shop.  I figured I’d get his coach in the shop  Cal-bumpers-2 and let him help Nathan do a little sweat equity on his rig and work over his rear bumper.  This might be interesting for you.  There are dynamics involved in his rear bumper.

Some time ago taking the coach in for an oil change, someone there decided to take the coach “around the block” and mysteriously the rear bumper came back to Cal messed up.  Of course there was a page 2 to the story but lets cut that out and just say Cal’s rear bumper is gurked. Cal-bumpers-3   There’s Cal hanging out at the back of the coach while Nathan takes it apart.  “Gurked” is a term we use down here in the south to keep from saying screwed up… oops, I said it but there it is.  If we’re going to slap a tweety paint finish on his coach first thing is to get the gurk out of his bumper.  Sight along the face of the bumper and you can pick up the passenger side is out by @ 3/4″  Cal-bumpers-4  Some of you much say hey, what’s 3/4″ among friends?  When we refinish the exterior of his coach…. ANYTHING that’s not touched will end up looking really bad so lets just nip this one in the bud.  Cal-bumpers-5  Nathan first bent the storage box Cal had behibd his bumper.  His bumper was extended back to make room for the aluminum storage box.  Getting at least the overall shape back it was time to take the box and bumper off the coach.  Cal-bumpers-1.You can also see in the foreground the “thru bumper” receiver hitch we’ll also be installing while repairing the bumper.  Of course the stainless steel bumper bolts were overtouqued and Nathan had to pull out his set of “red wrnches” and grinders to get the bumpers off the aluminum box Nathan-welding-1  With the parts now off the coach and on the bench Nathan went about fixing the aluminum box that was actually what made the bumper out.  Cal-bumpers-6  With Cal having a 4 bag system we’re not putting his spare tire off… and the carrier.  So how long did this take… well, stripped bolts added a little time, wacking the aluminum storage box back into shape and all that… we’re liking at maybe 4 hours.

WOW, a face from the past just walked in from Belguim… Erwin and Debora Z. just walked in.  You won’t remember but several years ago we built up and shipped a 34.5′ Airstream  Etwin-paint-6.  Erwin-ready-to-go-5  What a shiny monster!!!  Sorry guys, I’m going to show them around the new shop for a bit.

Don’t worry I’ll be back later …. and don’t forget this full timer crap that’s getting ready to blow up in the persons face… I’ll get there later… for now, it’s a little fun for us …….  Se you later….

Heck, here is it 2:45 and I just got a minute to sit down.  It will have to be tomorrow before I can post all the correspondence and timeline for our full timer issue.

Let me talk to this person directly while you guys listen.         Look, it’s pretty apparent by this time or at least it should the extent of how you have taken advantage of me and the Co-op.  If your bet is I will not follow through and show everyone the scope of this you are really mistaken.  The only reason I have not posted at this point is I’m waiting to get the site up.  Now when your world understand all of this you need to think about what that will do for you.   At this point I’m still willing to listen to you… my partner is not.  So if you think I’m the bad guy here understand this can get really negative fast.  Do something to stop this from happening…. I think this will be my last outreach to you

OK, still another time you guys are watching me try and communicate, there really isn’t much more I can do for someone who has clearly messed up.  If you have any influence on this person someone needs to reach out in his benefit.  I’m getting one more opinion while I wait for my webmaster to prepare the page.

lets see if level heads will prevail…. talk yo ya tomorrow

Happy anniversary to you both! Its been a while since I brought my GMC down to you folks and I hope you remember me. I certainly remember both of you and the hospitality that you extended to me while I was there. I remember everything very fondly and I hope to see you again in the not too distant future.
