Man, the guys are in process on our paint work backlog, Nancy and Willies coach is apart now the fun starts DA (dual action) sanding begins Each coach has unique challenges, the paint job on this coach was layered one color on the other. Let me explain….. look at the next drawing, when a painted layers one color completely on the next, you get an uneven surface. Oh boy….. lets get started … good thing there’s only 3 layers!! Hey, they’ve got the generator door down at least…. If you don’t do this you will always see the old stripes…
So I can hear it through the internet… “So how DO you paint stripes???? A job painted this way says the painter didn’t know how to lay out atripes
OK I’ll give you the tip. When planning your stripe layout, first shoot the smallest stripe color… bag that off then shoot the next larger. Bag it off then the last. This way there’s only 1 layer of color but there are 3 colors mixed at the same level on the surface. Pretty bad I know but the different colors all end up on the same level. Now you can scuff and repaint over it without the raised surfaces. Hey, no big deal, it’s just a thing. The guys are hard at it, I’ll show you pics tomorrow.
The day is on & I need to go, see ya tomorrow….
