Hey James, give me a call— 4
……………………………………………………………….
AaaaHaaaa, I caught ya, only 169 of you are night owls… the rest of the 350 average are getting up right now so…… Good Morning sleepy head…..
Yesterdsy was a very busy day at the shop…. for me though I got some seat time! Yep, I’ve been trying to get over to pick up a coach for a long time friend and customer Marilyn. Here we are as her baby of over 10 years comes to us to find a new owner.
Gimme a minute to process some pics……
OK, I’m back….
This is the farewell shots, because this will be one of the first coaches in our new :Coach Coral”:
This gal rolled that ball with this motorhome, she took a few parting shots of her sticker window
and her map which has 47 of the 50 states covered… 2 trips to Alaska
She has loved, maintained and showered her coach with love, affection and bucks to keep in in this condition.
She has one of the prototype quad bag systems, one of our roller cam motors with a Manny trans, a Honda EV 6010 generator, Zip Dee awning, 16″ Alcoas of course but we also painted it some years ago which she has maintained fanatically. It’s a Golby custom completely built interior in the early 90’s…. separate shower, twin beds, new everything, electric Ramcos, flat screen, man what else. It has been her travel companion for over a decade and it’s time to let her go . I drove out to her with my Suzuki and drove it back. The drive was fantastic… the reason I like driving these things. An original dash showed clean and green operation
. Florida I-4 traffic sucked
but with the Honda humming along, both roof AC’s doing their thing, radio blasting and my cell phone charging I was having a blast. Hey, if that’s what you’re looking for in an awesome motorhome….. I’ve got one at the shop you need to see….
Here’s the deal…. every week I have folks contact me wanting to know more about the GMC motorhome as an option to buying something new. They see poor quality but what’s more they just don’t like the idea of being a “camper” with the style of a toaster having slide outs and basically being a brick being hurled through the air! I have to agree, it looks like the American way of thicker steaks, fatter tires and more room has progressed to it’s natural end…..something looking like that vehicle Homer Simpson designed. You know the one with a massive body, raccoons tail hanging from the antenna and so on.
I mean you usually can’t take things larger than 30′ is many places you would love to go! You can’t pull into a little bodega and buy a Coke and a bag of peanuts….. you can’t park anywhere! And forget keeping in in your sideyard, they sited you for having a beast that big in city limits! It has to be parked and secured usually you having to pay for the spot to park it….. everywhere you get service done it’s the prettiest thing in the shop so now you have to clean the carpets from all the Bubbas walking in to look.
Hey, is that what you want in your RV experience? We have found a better way, have a classic GMC outfitted the way you want and end up spending less than you would in those mortgage payments and depreciation you get buying a new motorhome to travel in.
The GMC Motohome is a “drivers machine”. My Dad was a Greyhound Busdriver back in the day when they were a respected profession. We always made “damn good time” when we travelled and I remember the day he came home after driving his first automatic shift bus….. “They took away my drivers bus…..”. He was never the same. A GMC set up right, set up the way you want is a drivers machine…. period! The center of gravity 38″ off the ground,….. it’s a 26′ go kart! Torsion bar and air ride suspensions … you can do a slalom course and you can drive at any speed and feel in control. Why wouldn’t you consider a machine like that when you’re in the market for a good motorhome to travel in. I see it that folks interested in a vintage RV are thinkers…. the logical conclusion to an honest look at the best way … and the cheapest way to get on the road and have a memorable journey is with the GMC and other vintage machines.
Sooooooo, to that end I see us a farmers sowing seeds. When someone comes to me looking for more information I give it and when that’s done I send them out to find a coach that fits their needs. We have more gotten involved over the last 19 years in buying or selling coaches…. I feel I can help the best in a sale being the “piano player” in the room. Not being directly involved in the sale I can help both parties to find a common place and make the sale happen.
It was time and I sold Janies 23′ coach to a couple who it fitted just right. We’re outfitting it to their needs. It was a good buy for them and I needed to pare down my heard so it was good for us too. I started thinking…. why can’t we get involved in stabling nice coaches for sale as a consignment. We have folks serious in getting a nice coach so having many here for them to see after learning all about them would be a natural thing……. so that’s what we’re going to do..
Our “For Sale” page will soon be updated to really give those looking to buy and sell coaches a real option in their search. With out new facility, we have the option to properly store and have available to see coaches of a quality nature. I say that in meaning coaches that can be checked over and verified in a condition to help you narrow your search and be able to see several nice coaches in one place. Fly in to Orlando on one of those cheap junket tours…. drop out of line and spend the day with us.
You can learn a pile about what it means to have one of these and there will be several example of what you may want all at the same place. We expect to have 10-15 coaches kept in viewable condition, plugged in and ready for a test drive. We can perform a mechanical evaluation of the coach giving you a good indication on what the condition and possibilities of a finished coach to your needs.
This IS our business and how we have found we can help folks both buy and sell their baby.
Let me help you find a coach, we’ve done that for many and follow quality coaches through their lives. We’re usually the first one to know when a nice machine is coming up for sale and with this new Coach Coral I think we’re going to get even more busy than we already are.
