Hey, I’m here this morning on time! Gimme a little to process some pics…. be right back…
OK, ready to go…. I and Janie had a great time at the Dothan GMCMI convention last week. After breaking out under that stormline made it feel even more like racing that big wave in the movie “Perfect Storm”…. everytime I stopped at a rest area cause I was dozing a bit the rain caught up with me. Rats, I pulled into Orlando just as the rain showed up ….. I shut down the coach and just let it rain…..
But the get together was great. I have a pile of pics and will right up an account…. No really, I’m going to write it up! You guys who have hung around here for a while I get into projects and stop posting about it at the end… Hey… I move from one interest to the next… guess it proves that to me, it’s the chase……. I’m OK with that…. I think…. I need to get out more and this week in Dothan was one of those things I need to do more. It had been a couple of years since I made the last Convention…. that was wrong, now that I have more help at the shop maybe I can get more involved. As an enthusiast and dealer, it really is a great thing for me to do to get out…
OK, I’ll talk about the rally later, lets get back into the days work at the shop…. I know I have folks checking here every day for stuff on their project. Sorry guys, I just can’t keep up with all that’s happening. Don’t feel nothing is happening, that’s not it… just roll with me on this…. there are many things all happening at the same time….. enough of that, hey Bill D., here’s a teaser pic of your 23′ coach getting ready for paint…… I knew we could do it… check it out, we got off an original and second blue color decal from the side of the coach WITHOUT gouging the good original finish. Not easy but if the surface gets gouged there will have to be a ding repair… getting it all off without gouging cut body repair time… of course the time to do that has to be considered… and then thinking about quality finish… take the time to do this Good job guys…
Now I’ll give you some more pics on this project tomorrow, right now lets give Cal a few things to perk him up a bit….
OK Cal, your coach is just about as nasty as it can get…. That greenish color is aluminum adhering primer. Sporting 10 year old 16.5″ hospital slippers…. it’s outside because the dust it’s generating on the DA sanding, it has it’s window bags which will be there until the body has color. It’s under the sanding awning which will be used for that in the future. It’s the front of one of the outbuildings that has now been turned over to us. The concreted it’s sitting on has been totally pressure washed and scrubbed… hey mixing oil and body sanding makes some seriously nasty stuff. One of those tar pits come to mind…. so Cal, your coach is the first one in this work bay…. thanks
What’s great is you can see where the shadow is in the middle of the day…. in the shade baby! The guys are covered, not baking their brain like we used to
That’s our resident monkey… Junior up on the roof doing some final sanding… What a great new shop!
Had an idea…. since the web crawlers will search the title of each day’s title…. lemme use that to organize information on my web site… I’ll do a “page 2” when I change subjects that might be of interest to you in the future. So Cal, I’m going to leave your project and start another post there “Page 2” which is talking about a real trick I want all of you to know about. Some might call this one of those things that set our work apart. OK so as Waite Phillips who gave 118,000 acres in New Mexico that formed “Philmont” once said “If you always want something to always bear your name… give it away”. So OK, page 2 today will be something I want you to remember I taught it to you….. See ya on page 2….
Waite Phillips appreciated your comment! What a great location with ‘Tooth of Time!’
