Hey James, enjoying my quad bag system I installed in your coach? Why don’t you call me and talk about that….
……………………………………………………..
Have a lote to show today…. Ron, Tom and Cal got windshield attention yesterday.
First Cal had a new gasket installed. . The gasket had been cut and the passenger side wasn’t set straight. Don and his son are my windshield team, been doing this for me for close to a decade… oh and they are goooood First the windshields in Cal’s coach had to come out… the new gasket set and then the glass reinstalled with the sealant system we use. No dry install…. you must glue the gasket to the coach then to the glass. Here are the pics of the job:
Tom was waiting for the guys to yank his windows and decided he needed to be foreman…. a retired GM engineer, hey Cal…. you had GM approval on your new gasket and the install…
and then the finished product. Cal, breakdown is done, you can see we took the tops of the side windows down to bare aluminum to assure a really good bite and seal, his new top-to-bottom sliders are in, front bumper off for painting… basically it looks like crap right now….. you gotta break some eggs for that omelet, don’t worry… I mean WHAT could go wrong!
Next the guys yanked Tom’s windshields Tom, you gotta not give me funny faces when I take pics… heck I post that stuff! Tom wanted to prep the channel and work the screws at the front of the dash while the windshields were out so he waited patiently while the guys worked their magic
You can see the fogging in the edges of those old windshields. That’s the inevitable sign that humidity has infiltrated the middle plastic sheet and it’s time to pull out $1450 from the piggy bank for a new set. Most gaskets can be reused as the guys will on Tom’s coach but Cal and Ron will need t pony up for the gasket. Hey, just close your eyes and write the check…. when you open them the view their the front will be soooo much nicer!
So Tom bagged off the rest of the dash and shot the lip and pulled the screws across the front of the dash and Vwala his windshields are in and sealed
The guys had cut out Ron’s old windshields while Tom was doing his thing
You can also see the fog starting on his old windshield edges. But his gasket had been cut up for some reason… good thing I had a new one for him
so on they worked installing the new gasket first then a new set of American made, properly tinted windshields and BTW properly sealed both gasket to body and glass to gasket:
Finally, coming in this morning I just had to snap a shot of 1 of Craig S. 2 coaches. See he keeps one of his coaches here with us and he has one stored in Sacramento where he lives. He uses that coach while on the west coach and this one when he hits the eastern seaboard. He’s coming in from a winter in South Florida. Yep, he’s pretty much full timing coast to coast in 2 stretch (they are both twin bed stretch coaches) GMC’s…. a retired UCLA professor of economics, THIS is the most economical way he finds to enjoy his life…. pretty cool. He’s heading home this morning… he gets those red eye cheap flights… a really planned life…
I have a huge day today, putting on a new set of American Eagle rims, body repair continues on Cal’s coach and the rest of the beat goes on too. Thanks for dropping by… hope there was something in all that mess you enjoyed…. See ya tomorrow…,
