GMC 23′ interior restoration

Talking this morning a little about the restoration of this 23′ 1978 rear bath Birchaven.    TSII-show-2The interior was certainly useable and comfortable… for Janie and I but with Bill D. and his wife looking to make it their own some things are going to change. Janies-for-sale-10 The interior has come apart  Bill-int-1 and all the living area switching and monitoring geer getting a hideaway panel over the frig Daniels-system-panel-1  Everything will be refinished to Bill’s needs  …. stay tuned for more…

In the high 30’s this morning, a bit much for me but in the building it’s descent.  The guys should be here soon.  I’ve been wearing out my shoes lately here at the shop not only going back and forth moving but just the open area inside is wearing me down.  Out of the skunk works at my shop at home, I’ve resurrected a 24 volt scooter to my use around the shop rat-scooter-1  Had a goofy looking plastic body, I think it’s next life as a rat scooter will get more use.  Need to make some running boards and lets see how long the 24 volt system works.  Thanks John R. for the 24 volt charger I was missing… we all get by with a little help from your friends…..

OK, the week is on….. Oh wait, something new… I’ll be flying into Phoenic the second week of Feb. it install one of our new wireless controller cruise controls into Cal and Roberta T. coach Santa-Rosa-dash-1 then riding back with him to Florida where we’re doing that long awaited paint job on his baby Santa-Rosa-parked-2  We’ve been talking about a facelift on his coach for welllllll, a decade or more and now that’s they are retired there’s nothing standing in the way of that cross country trip.  Cal & I will be hitting I-10 all the way.  Lemme know if you are near and around that time and maybe we can swing by for lunch.  It’s going to be great… any time I can get behind the wheel of a GMC is great and you can come with us as I install the new cruise control system and put it through it’s paces.  This new cruise came about after finding in many cases the last electronic cruise control many of us have been using craps out after 4-5 years.  Mine in Larry  stopped working just as the unit I pit into Cal’s coach did.  Sorry but what can I say, if something runs well for a length of time…. anything.. a motor… tranny…. wheel bearings… brakes, etc then one day it stops it’s a part issue not an installer one.  We’re all bound by the quality of our parts.  Something craps out ofter a descent time…. that’s it bunky!  Time to move on and with this new cruise system having it’s cpu NOT in the engine compartment to get cooked but having it in a module inside the coach… and having the capability of having the cruise controls actually on the steering wheel RC-Royale-dash-17  Well that’s just cool!  So stay tuned for that project and the seat time I’m going to get.

Gotta go, the guys are showing up. So it’s hi-ho Silver until tomorrow… Foy & tree.

You might get Mac to consider 4K tachometers in the new dashes. 6K is overkill – or enginekill if you’re turning it up anywhere close.
