Fuel prices have set us free

OSeriously guys, wether it’s a political thing, oil glut, Middle East payback or whatever, our new bumper sticker says it all for all of us underlinge at the bottom of the stack Theres-more-to-life

Oops, pics aren’t doing their thumbnail thing.. hey Mr. Web Masterman gimme a call and lemme know which button I pushed wrong!A couple of other things I wanna go over with you too so call me please…

In other news, the Western States rally is on over on the left coast… couldn;t make it sorry, just too much going on here to be away… likewise the GMCMI convention is coming up next week or so… no way to get to it eather, again sorry but I support all of that fun.  It’s great to see the faces that make up the GMC community at that level.  Being a big GMC enthusiast mysel.. I mean I don;t just run a GMC restoration shop because it was the best thing I could do to make a living… brother this is hard work.. no cake, no easy stuff… everything is rusted, worn out, dirty, probablt globbed with grease… basically the efermath of a pile of people having their way over 30-40 years doing whatever they wanted to with the coach.  Man, that’s not what I would call a desirable thing to do to make a living.  Hey and you are right!  You have to get involved and do this for over 20 years seeking more than the greenback.. that scario just does not work!  It’s like riding a trash truck to save up enough money to buy an island in the Bahamas.  Just doesn’t make sense and that’s what many friends who knew me before I jumped off the cliff with an eggbeater….. “What are you doing?”  Oh Jobe, what evel did YOU do to bring Gods wrath upon you!”  Hey guys, don’t feel bad for me… I love this stuff!  I love everything about doing exciting , different things every day.  Doing things that folks need, helping in a way I can being personally involved in these machines over 20 years and getting the satisfaction I am doing something that is helping and not tearing down… yes this is a large part of why I do this and why we are here.

OK, I can see some of you roll back in your chair and say man.. it’s getting deep in here… OK, on the surface I’ll take that but there are things under the surface you need to be careful of that is happening.  tHE gmc MOTORHOME AND FOR THAT MATTER THE ENTIRE VINTAGE rv COMMUNITY IS GETTING EXPOSURE… Oops soory… cap loc…and lets try regular black Arial font… lemme know if this is OK to read…   but the entire RV community is coming from out of the shadows, the next generation are giving us a hard look and they are thinging carefully.  And if you do that you will see that the test of time has proven out the value of these coaches and reintroducing these classic road roamers and dangit for whatever reason we are given a chance with gas prices like this…. I don’t wanna hear it… you get out there and fill that tank up SON!  And you go take a ride… don’t tell me what you gotts do.. you gotta put some of that cheap go juice in your baby and burn up some dinosaurs!  Like the bumper sticker up top says….”THERE’S MORE TO LIFE THAN M.P.G.”.  The value I put on my livelihood and what I do does not drop it’s value by 1/3 for no reason!  I’m still me and relative to the price of gas right no which energy being what life is here to generate…. our net worth and that of what we would like to do to enjoy ourselves has just gotten a 1/3 boost!  So don’t just sit there, go unplug that thing and go for a ride!  Oh but I need to &^$#(*^%^%%%.  No you don;t.. you need to go drive there brother!  You need to use this low cost asset right now… right now get out and enjoy the ride.  All those going to the rallies now should be just euphoric that this fun they are having is being done cheap!!!!  Heck Nelson, get on back here and pick up the coach,….. go somewhere…..  roll those wheels!!!

OK, I’ll stop, you’ve go the message , crp there goes that gry print again, good thing James put in the font and color change capability before he left last week!  Thanks…

So get some more coffee while I process a few pics, this afternoon Brian with his fancy camera is doing a walkthrough David G. coach “Chauncy”.  The solid surface countertops are in so you don;t wanna miss that but I have more for you this morning so lemme get my poop grouped and I’ll be right back….

I’m back and in black, got a post that this print color and size is best.  If you have a different opinion lemme know.

OK so take a look at what filling pits and smoothing out the gel coat on Rn’s bumpers in 2 snading grits.. 180 then 220 before the primecoat is laid out.  This morning I walked into the cocoon… no Kevin, must have been time for the constitutional.  Take a look at these ready for color Ron-bumpers-6, it’s hard to show this in a pic but look at the smoothness of the lines here Ron-bumpers-4  no fiberglass part comes with this finish level Ron-bumpers-5  NOW, base that 4 coats, clear another 4 or 5 coats.. wet sand and buff out to 3000 and you will see our finish.

Kevin has the buffed out coach covered to protect it’s completed paint work. Ron-bumpers-2 while he’s preparing all of the accessory addone.  I see he has his implement of destruction and the thru bumper trailer hitch ready for a suaree Ron-bumpers-3  Kevin will have to get with Hank after cutting off the tailpipe to accommodate the receiver hitch structure.  Ron-assembly-18  I’ll get pics as first the hitch is installed then the ready for paint bumper gets it’s square hole cut… what… YOU don’t have a square hole drill bit?

Hey Tim, Hank’s back on finishing up your rear hatch .  Tim-final-push-5  Stay tuned, he’s on you today.

So last and maybe the least, the guys have been working on Miss Piggy, can you believe how little steel structure there is in these walls Miss-piggy-9.  Heck, I had the metal guys come over and gave them the body, they gave it back!  Miss-piggy-8  There was no metal to scavenge!  Miss-piggy-7  Made the decision we are going to knowck all the wood and crap off the body to see what the total structure of this 1989 Pace Arrow really is!  Man, you gotta stay tuned for that!

See a later…
