(UPDATED BELOW) For us bugs in Florida, water is coming…….

……… I know you guys on the left coast are grinding your teeth….sorry guys but this a classic example of “too much AND too little” can be a bad thing……… Let’s all hang on for the other side.

We have a good roof, coaches project  outside have all been sealed……i mean that IS where these thing are made to be in……. Hey and I even sealed that leaky rail I was putting up with on my coach “JayGee”and with any luck, I hope to hit the road soon so JayGee needs to get it together.

Don’t let your motorhome just sit…… Do what I say…..not as I do!  I’ve used JayGee constantly….as “the ready room” (you know, from Star Trek)  but it hasn’t moved since I resealed the leaking top rail.  I KNOW I could feel my original motor timing chain is loose……. Yep, could let go at any time!  If I fill up my brake master cylinder I think I can be fine to go somewhere……i sold my back 4 Alcoa rims with good looking 16.5″ takeoff painted with trim black to not look so nasty……..what could go wrong!  He’s a 1973 model with some copper still in service in his Bowles……… I just turn on the water when I use it.  The frig cabinet fell apart when we tried to take out the Norcold that gave up the ghost.  I’m trying that cute little 3.2cf retro looking “Frigidaire”.  It’s sitting there needing a cabinet to keep it from being a projectile if I hit the brakes….no wait, I’ve got no brakes so do I need to secure that little frig……i mean how much would THAT hurt?

See, you and I have a great deal in common and probably a dozen more things…….if any of this is you….DO NOT DRIVE YOUR COACH!

A new day is dawning with folks are beginning to appreciate what it takes to revive a 45 year old maching, motorhome, hey bailer, lawn mower, farm tractor……youve got the idea……..

I want to give you an example of when the light bulb came on….and it’s happening as we speak!

If you are one of the many “wannabe” folks out there doing proper due diligence……..PLEASE follow this story closely, I would tell you most coaches come to us now on a flat bed for this exact reason.  This is a recovery from the edge of desaster:

A couple had been reading everything they could trying to understand more about this cool GMC they found surfing around for a downsized fun motorhome.  Maybe they knew what a GMC was and finally got to the point in their lives that “it’s time”.  Eat her way in reading and looking at all of the coaches out there….using the purchasers knowledge they had used to successfully buy everything that has made them happy……until now!

Seeking to buy that perfect investment you have to cast a wide national net to catch that right fish…….right?

Well, living on the left coach they found it….a twin bed, center galley Royale….in PERFECT original condition……in New Hampshire!

Excited to find the perfect fish in their net, 2 one way flight tickets and their journey begins.

And it WAS a great price from the right previous owner who had loved is “daughter” keeping her safe….agianst the harsh elements for decades…… It looks like the win/win all good deals are made of!  Boooya!

Introductions went well, smiles were all over the place and like any Devine accomplishment the sun shone bright.  Ok, handshakes over the mother fired up and off they rode into the world headed for a fun cross country experience………

“Everything was going great” for 44 miles………. How many Power steering hoses have you heard blew?  I’ve seen those hoses so deteriorated cords were showing but never heard 1 blow!  Well it blew!

They found literally the only guy anywhere near them that could help….thank God and he is one of US.

SO ,after several days of trying to patch up many thing the goal being we’re going cross country……right……..

The phone rang…… I’ve fielded hundreds of calls like this over the decades and I could tell from letting the voice on the other end of the line had the first person experience and was actually reaching out to “make the bad man stop”!

Just got a call…..everything was great and then a rear wheel passed me!  I’ll be back……..

The saga continues……..

The situation is a 45 year old coach that has had no problems has no integrity without everything gone through.  Emerging from the fire….the decision was made to turn south and attempt a trip here where the entire running gear can be gone thru before attempting a cross country run.

Guys, also today a new owner just lost a rear wheel after just picking the coach up heading home.  Guys….guys…..dont expose yourself to this sort of situation.  It’s not unusual now…it should be expected and backup plans should be made until the coach can be mechanically verified.

I have another project that just had his new purchase trailers @ 200 miles to him.  Who has lower blood pressure……and these things are happening today, right now.  It’s 11:36am on Saturday and everyone is doing what they can.  I’ll let you know the outcome of each.  Oh Yeah, and then there is the coach with a bad frame has even gone to a new forever home!

Talk to ya later……..

UPDATE…………

So he got some help and from this, he got the wheel and I’ve got him moving.  A quad bag is in his future!

Next the Royale from up north made it!……
