Rocky Mountain High

The new classic, refined look of the classic coach, "Rocky Mountain High" is a very special coach owned by a very special couple. Larry & Suzie Coldren have been Co-op supporters well, I would guess since we opened. "Larry", my coach was found by and named after who-- you guessed it Larry. He found my ex-post office Transmode up in Denver where they live. His astute eye also found "Tin Soldier", a 23' coach that will someday be renovated to new status. This 73 ex-Canyon Land has been in their family for some time. Always Larry would talk about driving the coach down to Florida and helping us do the once over on the paint-- well, the dream has come true and now Larry and Suzie are the proud owners of one of our soup to nuts exterior renovations-- The "Rocky Mountain High" is out there now and I thank them for all the help they have given us.

condition exterior finishes still a proud example of a well kept but looking old

We didn't get many pics of it when it came in because it looked like most
unrestored coaches. Stripping then DA sanding and repairing years of
"Oops", the coach will always look worse before it looks better
Then the color goes on, striping laid out and out wizard painter does his thing.
Now it's our turn to put the coach back together. Larry hung out here in
Orlando with family and actually helped us with this process
,
here he modifies his T skirts before they get their new color. Everything
is removed for a quality refinish then of course everything has to be put back
on.
Jesse is tapping and refitting the side rails to the coach and sealing them to
be sure there are no water leaks Detail is the key on a paint finish we're
going for.

Make the coach look it's part. Stainless fastners
are a must. We went for the "no molding" look-- how did we do?
All done and all thats left is to rewind tension on Larrys original awning with
new fabric
making sure action is smooth and the roll up is as effortless as possible
No time to even fuss over the coach. Larry needed to hot foot it home. See
the cold is setting in and he has to winterize his home-- glad we don't have to
worry about that down here! With a handshake Larry hooked up his "towd" (a
classic red VW bug) and he was off
