Wow, getting into this century with computers is aging me!
Gosh, I have so much to catch you up on…. I thought I was posting but the cloud gods were themselves causing it to rain on me! At least I can’t say that was crap…. but it was… I mean here we are, a holiday.. the food high is wearing off and I can’t post! We’re in the middle of moving into this awesome place and I didn’t post you pics I made…. I need to catch up so can’t help it this will be long and a bit on the personal what’s happening around here side because the guys have been putting in huge work trying to get ready to resume work tomorrow… in the new building! There won’t be much GMC content in this so if you could care less what we’re doing around here and how much improved we are becoming…. see ya on the next post. I felt it was only fair to warn all of ya…. everything happening at the same time has consumed the entire shop, we have some new opportunities and a new direction. I mean I’m looking out the side bay next to my office at it raining a chilly mist…. and I don’t care! We will have a full days productivity tomorrow anyway!!!! That is huge. It’s on the dark side in the big bay but with a flip of 5 switches I can ignite 64 fluorescent 8′ tubes 75watt each and a second shift appears!
And what is lit up is a wonderful place full of all kinds of neat things the drive even with only 1 line on…
…… “Why yes little Billy, this IS heaven”!
So I left you guys off with the guys scrubbing the floor we dug the equipment and tables out of the old place… cleaned them up and started setting up the interior trim shop
The guys were doing OK moving the 100 yards with the fork lift and I’m not saying anything but the fork lift broke so the guys came up with a new way to move everything 100 yards. Miss Piggy saved the day
Yep, who would know that thing would come in really handy
There it is with Ray, our trim shop manager at the helm
Load after load came in the bay It was Hank’s idea after getting the critter running… we’re all so outside the box we’re doing amazing things with nothing at all!
New New year has begun with Fire Fight, upholstery and trim shops close to ready for work tomorrow. Take a looksee:
My office is at least up and running with my tools ready for service
and my bows on the wall I mean we have a target in there for the off hours. There was something I’ve always wanted to do with a big bathroom. We actually have progressed to the point to have a building with a urinal… 1 was taken out but still… I’ve always read graffiti in bathrooms and wondered what it would be if it were OK to do that…. keeping it clean of course so here ya go
Bring your thought and leave those too with us
Oh and I think I’ll turn that spot where the other urinal was into a cat box with a wooded scene on the wall
So strap in boys and girls, Co-op 2.0 is going to be a great game! No game, this is the real thing now. Thanks to all of our supporters over the years… putting up with the old shop and all that came with doing things under tough conditions… The Co-op will be all it can be… for everyone. Sitting here looking out my window onto all the tools we have now, it’s all quiet with the lights low right now… I won’t lie, it’s been a long, hard battle scratching our way up the side of that tin can… there have been many along the way to thank and many who have made this happen. Saying it again… thanks and thanks for the support. You MUST come by now and see.
Oh yea, here is our new hydro graphics tank now in place . Google it, pretty neat process. Like I said, we’re just going to have some fun now!
Now Hanks was still over at the old shop where he and Kevin will be for the next 90 days when we take over the second building on our property. This 4000 sf building will house our Paint & mechanical areas The first bay to the left is a paint booth with the next 4 dedicated to our paint and exterior work. The next recessed 3 bays will be for mechanicals with a huge side work area to the south
When that kicks in you could call it Co-op 2.5 or something. At the old shop, Hank has his work cut out for him… no pun.. look at all that old hitch stuff that has to come off
and production in trim will kick back in tomorrow. It’s been a wild holiday for me.
Come see us tomorrow. I’m thinking of trying to post each afternoon, lets see how that fits in.
I’ll get the thumbnail thing figured out tomorrow…. sorry,
See ya than and thanks for the visit….
Jim, The best sign I’ve seen at a urinal is ” in case of an air raid jump in the urinal, ain’t no body hit it yet !!” Usually applys to all of them…..Tom in Texas
Great!! Bathroom prose: “If your pressure is low, or your pipes are short, Just taxi forward about 6 inches.” ( on a brass plate in the private terminal in Reno, Nev. Believer.
Moving all your stuff with a blown open 3 axle Fleetwood? So ghetto! I love it!
