…….. Sometimes little things are as irritating as bigger ones……my cute little “Frigidaire” has been cooling along in my coach, I wanted to see if it would actually keep working….and it did!so moving into the little cold critter I found something I’ll bet no one thought about checking…….. This cute little built in drink can dispenser WILL hold a 6 pack…but they won’t fit the way you would think
are Chinese beer cans shorter than a 12 oz. can? I guess so! At least 6 will fit……
Well there ya go……its ALMOST perfect?
.it’s a good thing that 16″ tires still fit 16″ rims! Just another day in paradise…… Everything ALMOST fits perfect……they even make 17″ rims now….but the offset of the new rims will not clear our rear suspension! Douwwwww! We’re still trying to break into 17″ world but it has proven to be elusive….stay tuned……..the 12 oz. beer can will never fit into my frig properly though!
The Coke “Gadabout” is in the house! Waiting in the Q this 1 of 5 very rare GMC is getting its punch list punched out.
For sure fresh brakes and a quad bag rear air ride suspension as a safety to not be on the side of the road with wheel issues along with some other check outs and added countermeasures and backups this contest winning coach will soon be back on the road…..stay tuned.
We had a coach leave yesterday headed home and another owner flew in last night for a couple of get acquainted days before heading home with his new bundle of joy……..
Which brings me to the new idea of “take-a-tech”.
When a new owner takes initial responsibility of their first vintage rv, there are thousands of new experiences you are experiencing for the first time ….all at once! Until you get a handle on the critter, things can happen that you may not understand or be ready for. We have had disappointed customers not with their coach but with what they expected and understood how things work!
That drive home from here can be harrowing if you don’t know what to expect and how to deal with things.
SO….. we are working on how it would work to have one of our coach technicians ride with you home. Actually have a mechanic go home with you explaining the coach and be there if adjustments need to be made on the trip. Yes, pulling a tech away would be difficult, transportation costs will be involved but the time, energy and money you may save having an asset to introduce you to your new toy my be worth the expense! Tell me your thoughts on this one too. Hey, we’re trying hard to do the things our customers want.
No hard details as yet but while it’s true….”the ship yard builds the ship and the crew does the shakedown but maybe it would be a good thing to have a shipyard worker on board on that first run? Let’s talk about this……
Ok, I’ve been sitting here next to Eleganza laying still on her Matt. She got tired of waiting and left….guess I need to too!
See ya tomorrow…..……..
Maybe instead of your valuable techs go along for the ride how about some old fart retired skilled expert GMC owners be available to coach a new owner for awhile. I bet some would do it for free just pick up expenses.
The people who even consider driving a newly acquired coach a long way tend to usually be confident in their own abilities (Whether that’s warranted…lol) — although i’m sure there will be a few instances where someone will want that — like Jason did with Luke.
