- ……….. I made it in time for the gift opening and cake at Mary’s birthday party and I generated a good punch list of things to twerk up the coach……….please understand to have ha 45 year old machine that can do something like “Rock the Alps” mistakes determination, commitment and the the ability to support what needs to be done to keep the coach road ready. Ask anyone owning an airplane…….”let’s it sit and you’ll have something to fix”. The older our classic coaches you you must understand the more it will take to keep it up……….its just what it is
…….. And the beat goes on…..
hoods up….diver down many things go into redesigning things…stay tuned.
What does this mean?well other than the tech still needs to clean up but old plug wires, some sprays and a stain in the flood , a bucket and the Onan locked back in place means another “Ole Troll” is running again! The original Onan “Power Drawer” generator used in the GMC really WAS a great device but the WAS may not be today. Get one with too many issues it may not be worth the time to get it back up. But if they wake up well and adjust out ….hey I have one in my coach …but time kills all and full restorations will always include a new generator. Just a sign of the times………
The dash gets new colors before the “Mini-Mac” dash goes in…..stay tuned……
see ya tomorrow…..
Hi – Good to see that a lot of the testing/learning done with my coach is getting applied to others! Quick question: On the Alternator Light Circuit you posted a few days ago — I don’t have an Alternator “light” on my (new) dash. I do have an ammeter measuring the flow of electrons to or from the starter battery. Do I need an Alternator light? (What does it do actually? Does it show that the alternator is doing its job or the opposite, that it stopped?). You also said “The circuit needs to be totally bypassed not bandaided” which seems to imply that it’s better not to have one than to use the one shown on the diagram?
