A ltlle late posting today…..sorry but yesterday was a “delivery day”

……….. Just like birthing a child, delivery day is a ending of our journey and beginning an all new one for the new owner……. Thanks for your business and trust un us.2 souls on the good ship setting sail to Minneapolis……..hopes run high…..

I’m a little less today in that delivery day means everyone needs to turn to doing finish up stuff based on the underway shakedown…….

Double checking all the work we did but also all the other stuff needs to do their part as they did when the coach came in………

Yes ole Troll generator went into mothballs while here….it seemed to work well.  Had to adjust the timing and carb then last night the call came in the generator stopped……… Could be!  Traced with the owner to a bad electric fuel pump.

Btw, the #1 failure point in fuel systems that us an electric fuel pump the PUMP is the weakest link!  If you can, might be a good thing to carry extra electric pump for any you rely upon.  You need 2 electric fuel pumps to assure you’ll have 1 that works…….think about that a minute……….i sure wish there were options to create high pressure fuel…….we’re looking.

Btw 2…… We now mount all electric fuel pumps and filter on the outside of the frame rails so you can get to them on the road.   Our coaches are way to low to the ground to get under there is you need to……….right there John D.?  Yeah my good buddy John parked his coach in its usual spot but for some reason no fuel is reaching the mechanical pump and his aux. electric pump doesn’t push fuel either……….where it is he can get under the coach!  Next week he’s going to ride hi with a boat fuel tank furnishing fuel to his pump to limp it over to us to see what happened.  If he could have gotten to his filter. …..it may be the filter did what it’s supposed to do.  It clogged up!  Hey but being unable to get to the filter you’ll be on Dr. Hook if you can’t get up under there.  Try to not get yourself in that position.

Anyway……. Yeah, delivery day…..another pony sets off home……. The coach is nice but more will be needed.  His 403 tuned out pretty nice with its Quadrasnot carb.  Hey, I love xarbs!  I can “bend that spring” but the owner knows to be cool heading home ……..

With no altitude control and the summer blend fuel we’re all now running you need to be careful running a carb.  You need to run the motor so lean to get performance out of our ________ fuel today……. Gauling piston and burning valves are issues.

Fuel injection adjust for altitude solving many problems…..especially pulling heavy vehicles like our Motorhomes.

No new news yet today but my guess is if there were other issues I would know.  Funny how that happens.

Installing a new quad bag system on this early 1974 model this coach made it all the way with recalled plastic cones on its original air bags!the plastic cones have thick edged (@ 1/2″…..the aluminum cones are thin and it’s obvious they are made of metal.  If yours are plastic like these……call me…..and move away slowly from your coach!

Ok, lunch time is over………. Back to work……  I’m on the phones today so call if you need anything…….see ya later

……….The “readyroom”
